Neal's Yard Dairy started as a small dairy in a London courtyard. Today, they buy cheeses from all over the British Isles. Last week our local Whole Foods Market received of shipment of NYD's Isle of Mull Cheddar, and today I was able to purchase one of the last slices. This cheese is not from Cheddar, but from Scotland (thus, the Isle of Mull). It has just a touch of blue toward the edge of the cheese, which produces a tangy aftertaste. Awesome with crackers.

kaydee, this cheese is so good, I would eat it with cardboard! By the way, cheese and butter? That's a bit much for my heart.

Looks very tasty. I'll have to see if I can track some down.

Well, I got some today, and it certainly s a winner. I think it's made it into my top 5. (Which also includes, now that I think about it, Parm-Regg, some good aged Pecorino Toscano (probably my single favorite eating cheese), the Swiss cave-aged Gruyere (barely edging out Comte in the swiss-cheese department), and a blue of some sort, either Gorgonzola or creamy Roquefort).
