Conglomerate in the News ... Sort of
Posted by Gordon Smith

The Wisconsin State Journal published an article on blogging today. Why not? Everyone else is. This was the extent of my contribution from a half-hour interview:

Where else could students learn, for example, what UW- Madison law professor Gordon Smith thought of the new movie, "National Treasure" - "as dumb as I had feared," he wrote in a review.... None of this would exactly help anyone get ready for finals, but that's not what most blogs are for, students and professors said. "Students feel like it's this weird window into the mind of the professor," said Wyatt, the law student. "Bloggers become personalities, like columnists. If you follow them, you want to know more," Smith said.

If memory serves, the reporter told me that this story started in response to this press release about Law & Entrepreneurship News. But that blog is never mentioned -- except as "a serious blog about law news" -- even though two of our editors, Zack Wyatt (who also has his own blog) and Chris Anderson, are featured. Despite omitting any express reference to Conglomerate or Law & Entrepreneurship News, the story is well done. Read the whole thing.
