Two days ago, I blogged a mild endorsement of Technorati, and Tom Bozzo responded via email, suggesting that Technorati undercounts links. Today, I read Fred's rant on Technorati at A VC: "if I get 5-15 new links per day, how is it that I always have 368 links from 254 sources?" I have wondered the same thing. It seems to me that the totals change occasionally -- and I have sometimes gotten it to update by clicking "Sort by Authority" -- but it does not update as often as the links are added. Just now I checked and we have links from two new sites since this afternoon, but our totals remain the same. Is it really so hard to count links?
UPDATE: Technorati is on the case. Pretty impressive feedback.
