Welcome to Week #2 of Conglomerate Junior Scholars Workshop. Our featured paper today is Compensating Power: An Analysis of Rents and Rewards in the Mutual Fund Industry, forthcoming in the Tulane Law Review, by William Birdthistle. William is an associate at Ropes & Gray (Boston) in the investment management department, and his practice experience informs his analysis of some of the mutual fund practices recently brought to light by investigators and the media.
Once again, we have turned to business law blogger Larry Ribstein to comment on a paper within his expertise. Prof. Ribstein's comments appear directly under this post. Readers are encouraged to comment on this paper by participating in the comments to that post.
