Courtesy of Co-Op: A hearty welcome is in order for the newest blawg on the block, Feminist Law Profs. Check out the sidebar for the list of authors; you'll recognize the names of many well-known feminist law professors, as well as friends of the Glom like Joan Heminway and Ann Bartow. I can't wait to hear if this all-female majority female blog was in the works before the now-infamous AALS blogging panel or whether this blog grew out of that discussion. Either way, the blogosphere is looking a little brighter than usual today.
On scrolling through the posts, I notice that Ann is the author of the blog. Any feminist law professor may ask to be listed on the sidebar. Some of those listed will be participating in the future.

For the record, my colleague Lew Gibbons (one of the self-identified feminists on the sidebar of said blog) is not a she. Therefore, while it may be an "all-feminist" blog, I don't believe it's an all-female one.

My goof. I've edited to reflect new information! (Also, the sidebar has changed throughout the day, so (like a stopped clock), I may have been correct at some point.)

Yeah, I just signed up to be on their list too; I very gingerly asked Ann Bartow if she envisioned an all-female lineup (which I would've thought was fine), and she said no, so I should be on the list soon.

Any feminist law prof is welcome to join! I'm a veteran of several very awesome feminist collectives, and I'm hoping this feminist law prof blog project will succeed.

Ann, I notice that none of the posts credit the author. Why?
Assuming that is intentional, aren't you worried that your open door policy may result in some embarrassing or wacky anonymous posts?

Gordon,
At the moment, a South Carolina techie and I are the only ones with keys to the blog. Folks on the blogroll can and have made suggestions about things that should be posted, but for now, I will handle the mechanics of posting. So if anything embarassing or wacky happens, credit me.
The point of the blog is not to draw a huge external audience, it is to help build and bond a specific community, feminist law profs. So, it will look and function somewhat differently from blogs like yours.
As I become more comfortable and expert with Word Press, the design of the blog will hopefully evolve to better facilitate communication between feminist law profs.
Certainly any "commentary" posts will credit the author(s).
best,
Ann

Ann, that resolves the concern about wacky posts, but the blog design is misleading. Listing people in the sidebar like you do implies that they are contributors to the blog.
