Gak! Put a spoiler alert if you're going to post like this! Please!!

Cathy, You're kidding, right? It's a sporting event, not a movie or the last volume of Harry Potter. The prologue was on television for several hours this morning, and the results are everywhere on the internet. It's no secret.

I'm semi-kidding. I'm kidding to the extent that I can deal with the grief of knowing the result today, but in all seriousness there are lots of people who have to Tivo it and go to great lengths to avoid knowing the results until they can get home to watch it properly. (This is especially true for Californians where the Tour is normally on at ungodly hours of the morning.) As a Tour afficionado yourself, surely you recognize that it's not just the result but its dramatic unfolding that people find compelling, and it does lose quite a bit if you already know how it turns out by the time you get to watch it.

It just would seem unfortunate if one of the lengths people like this would have to go to is to not read over here at all, instead of just selectively...

Although in all fairness, to the savvy cycling fan, "He's riding like a man possessed!" should have been a sufficient giveaway as to the contents of the post... ;-)

(I guess I clicked on the RSS link just because I was curious whether anyone else other than Paul Sherwin had had the occasion to say it.)

That's a fair point about Californians (or Oregonians!), so I will make a habit of putting any "spoilers" below the fold. I just edited this post, though too late for Cathy.
