After years of procrastination, I finally visited the gorgeous Milwaukee Art Museum this past weekend. As luck would have it, we arrived just as an air show was beginning over Lake Michigan.
After visiting the Museum of Modern Art in New York this past spring, I was not in the mood to be easily impressed, but we found some great treasures in the MAM, including this sculpture by Cornelia Parker entitled Edge of England:
I never realized how much Honoré de Balzac looked like Chris Farley:

I loved going to airshows as a kid back in Michigan. The family would pile up and head to one part or another of the state to see all the awesome aircraft.
The Blue Angels and Thunderbirds were always my favorites. I found some video of a Thunderbird accident with one lucky pilot. You can find a ground shot and cockpit shot here:

It was lucky for the pilot to have survived that accident. Others in airshows are not so lucky.

These work-related accidents aren't that many. Truth is, in airlines, the chances of dying in a plane crash is 1 in 5.4 Million.
