Two Great Blog Posts
Posted by Gordon Smith

Two great posts caught my eye on my tour of the blogs tonight ...

Josh Wright on George J. Stigler: The Father of Empirical Law and Economics?

Nate Oman on The Oldest Law School

And here is a bonus: Ivan Maisel explains why college football trumps the NFL. He is required to give 20 reasons, but he needs only one:

The appeal of college football is rooted in the simple notion that your team represents you, your state, your alma mater, your youth. The NFL represents -- what, exactly? A bunch of 25-year-old millionaires who will dump your town the minute their agent secures a better offer. There is no loyalty in the NFL. College football is all about loyalty.

College ball is also better because college players are simultaneously less adept than pro players and more willing to make those big plays. They're more willing to sacrifice body to make up for the lacking skills. And that's really the magic of the college game.
