Earlier today, Dean Kevin Worthen of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University called to offer me a position on the faculty, and I accepted. This is a bittersweet development for me and my family. I am a native Wisconsinite, and I have enjoyed my homecoming very much. The University of Wisconsin is the most wonderful place I have ever worked, and my family has thrived here. Nevertheless, BYU offers many exciting professional opportunities. And we are looking forward to living among mountains again. It's like this all the time ...

Gordon,
Congratulations.
You know good and well that Utah doesn't look like that all the time. In winter, it's filled with white powder.
Could you look up my son when you get there and tell him to wind up his undergraduate education?

Gordon,
This is wonderful news (for me). It will be great to have you in the neighborhood. Congratulations.

Congratulations! I enjoyed learning from you through interactions with the Fed Soc, in Biz Orgs, and in Law & E'ship. This is a happy day for BYU, and a sad day for UWLS. It will be very difficult for the administration to fill your shoes. Best of Luck!

I was drawn here from the photo in Jeff Lipshaw's post at Legal Profession Blog. As a newly-minted law professor, I look forward to joining the AALS Fly Fishing section!

Wow. It's a sad day for the UW, but it sounds like a great move for you and your family. I was lucky to take both of your Biz Orgs courses, both of which have already paid dividends in my fledgling career. You touched a lot of people at UWLS, notably anyone who was fortunate enough to hear your commencement address this past spring.
Best of luck out in Provo.
