My daughter returned home from BYU today, just in time to miss the protests. For reasons too many to explain here, we ended up flying her from SLC to Midway in Chicago, which meant that I spent most of the day on the road. I really hate driving in Chicago, even if it's only on the fringes.
By the way, about those protests, how lame is Steven Greenstreet for mocking the students for not being confrontational enough? Very.

fyi: There's a great Van Galder bus she can pick up right outside baggage claim.
Every two to four hours, they run a luxury bus (reclining seats, toilet) to Madison for $28. May have to transfer at Rockford, but very safe, clean, and helpful with luggage.

I read Greenstreet's story differently - not that those students weren't being confrontational enough, but that the media was only covering the peaceful, quiet protesters instead of following the real action:
"But, the main event today has been pretty much passed over by so much of the local and national press. In fact, Channel 2's news report just came out. Notice it doesn't say anything about the alternative commencement."
That said, even if he is criticizing protesters for not being confrontational enough, he's correct: walking around with "Peace" signs is useless - protest who/what you're going to protest.
