May Day
Posted by Victor Fleischer

The Wall Street Journal is reporting today that the Senate Finance committee will hold a hearing next week on the issue of changing the tax treatment of carried interest distributions.

It just so happens that today is also May Day, traditionally a day of worker protest.  In response to the possibility of a tax hike on their labor efforts, I'm told that private equity and hedge fund managers are marching down the streets of Greenwich, shouting "No Justice! No Peace!"
