Congratulations to Troy Paredes, Washington University Law School professor and the next nominee to be commissioner of the SEC. Troy has achieved a lot in a little time, including some 18 odd articles, and an editorship on the mammoth, 11 volume, Loss, Seligman, and Paredes Securities Regulation treatise. But we assume he's proudest of his guest stint at this here blog - a stint that may have fast-tracked his candidacy. Congratulations, Troy!

I don't think Troy Paredes, was ready to to be commissioner of the SEC, I think he has lack of experience.

Today's poll also suggests a huge amount of soft support for the Greens, with 18.6 per cent saying the party keeps others honest and it would vote for them; 65.6 per cent agreed with the statement that they are good to have around but they probably wouldn't vote for them; and only 12.8 agreed with the statement that the Greens moan too much about New Zealand environmental standards.
