Bakeries
Posted by Gordon Smith

Last weekend, I visited O&H Bakery in Racine, Wisconsin. Although they offer a wide assortment of food items, they specialize in Danish Kringles. Yum, yum, yum! You can order them from the website if you are too far away to visit in person. Try the pecan kringle, unless you are dieting, in which case skip the kringles altogether.

A week earlier, I was a bit disappointed in the New Glarus Bakery. The website is more interesting than the storefront, and the website is not likely to win any awards. Unfortunately, we arrived too late for all of the best products, though we did find some nice Wisconsin cheese in the shop next door.

My interest in bakeries is innate. I grew up in Osseo, Wisconsin, in the shadow of the original Norske Nook. Not a bakery, strictly speaking, but I defy you to find better pies anywhere.
