The Northern Lights are out in Wisconsin tonight. Wow! What a show! My wife spotted them while driving to a meeting at church and called me on her mobile phone. From my front yard, I can see a flourescent green line of light on the horizon with misty streaks of light appearing to shoot upwards in the sky. The line of green is wavy, somewhat like this. Right above my house is a mass of red (like this), almost like a cloud at sunset, only transparent and eerie.
My children are very excited. My son exclaimed, "This is the coolest thing I have seen in a long, long time!" My daughter has been calling all her friends and urging them to go outside. My youngest are standing on our driveway in barefeet, freezing but entralled.
