"Deep Throat" Revealed

If you had to guess the reason Mark Felt decided to reveal his identity after 30 years, would you have guessed this?
In encouraging her father to tell his own story, Mr. Felt's daughter, Joan, spoke of the money it might make to help pay tuition bills for her children.
On second thought, I guess you would.
UPDATE: According to John O'Connor, who wrote the Vanity Fair article, the Felts were not paid for the story.
