Letter from Law School Deans Supporting an Independent Judiciary
Posted by Christine Hurt

Brian Leiter has linked to a letter signed by many law school deans in support of an independent judiciary and criticizing recent threats and verbal attacks against judges.  Orin Kerr at VC suggests that this letter may backfire as being an example of the choir preaching to the preacher -- the ones criticized in the culture wars as being one-sidedly liberal lending support to the judiciary to continue to be independently liberal.  To me, the letter strikes me as being almost redundant in the same way supporting the law of gravity would be redundant, but maybe things have gone that far out of whack.

Anyway, you can see that many deans signed the letter, including the dean of Gordon's school.  (If this were podcast, you would hear me whistle in a shuffling, offhand way here -- if I could whistle and if I knew how to podcast.)
