Grocery Shopping in Sweden

It's time for a quick lesson in Swedish. The word Moms has nothing to do with maternity. It means "tax." (In the case of Sweden, this is a value added tax.) As you can see from this grocery receipt, the sales tax on non-grocery items is 25% and the tax on food is 12%. Ouch!
