Christine and I are very pleased to welcome Vic Fleischer to the permanent masthead of Conglomerate. Vic was a guest blogger here in February, and he has been blogging on his own over at A Taxing Blog, where he writes for "taxprofs, policy wonks, and other shameless tax nerds," but also includes "a good deal of ranting about economics, deals, corporate finance, and venture capital." We found our blogs interlinking a lot, and despite my recent expression of skepticism on the subject, the word "synergy" seems appropriate.
Vic is Acting Professor of Law at UCLA School of Law, but he recently moved to Washington D.C., where he will be Visiting Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center. He describes his research agenda as focusing on the "interaction between tax and corporate governance, with particular focus on the structure of venture capital startups and the importance of understanding institutional details when designing effective tax policy." The result is some of the most interesting work around, in my opinion. You can get a sampling of his papers at SSRN.
Welcome, Vic! We look forward to blogging with you.
