Blogging Katrina
Posted by Christine Hurt

Tracy McGaugh and Kathy Bergin are two law professors at South Texas College of Law who are making daily visits to the Houston Astrodome and George R. Brown Convention Center and blogging about what they find there (with pictures) at White Washing the Black Storm.  I talked to Tracy yesterday, and their current routine is volunteering at the medical aid table.  Every day, Tracy goes to the table, and medical personnel hand her a list of OTC medicine needs.  Tracy then goes to CVS and shops the list.  I think the two profs are out of pocket thousands of dollars at this point.  Interested readers can donate at their site.

Some friends have asked Tracy to stop blogging about the subpar conditions at the Dome because they feel that stirring the pot is not useful at this point.  She says she will if they will go spend the night with their kids at the Dome.  No one has taken her up on the offer.  As I have heard others say in different contexts, sunlight is the best disinfectant.
