The White Sox are choking. Gene Wojciechowski writes, "The White Sox are going to make the playoffs, but just barely, and only
because they were good enough to lap the field nearly eight weeks ago." What makes him so sure? They are only 2½ games up on Cleveland, with five more to go against the Indians (who also play lowly Kansas City and Tampa Bay for their other remaining games). The White Sox are only four games away from slipping below the Yankees for a wild card spot. With 13 games left and the way the White Sox have been playing, it's possible that they could be watching the playoffs on television. Again.
