Dan Filler at Concurring Opinions compares the current law school rankings to 1998 and 1995, with interesting results. Perhaps this is old hat to those who follow the rankings more closely than I, but Dan finds a lot more variation among lawyer and judge reputation numbers than among academic reputation numbers. The fast-moving schools -- notably George Mason and Wash U -- are riding much better results from lawyers and judges, coupled with only modest improvements in academic ranking. (I assume both schools have also improved their student quality numbers, which would tend to follow overall rankings improvements.)
