Some of our readers know that I was a candidate for this position, and my name was one of three forwarded by the faculty to the central administration. But when I learned yesterday that Jim Rasband would be selected (confirming my hunch), I was not disappointed in the least. Jim is universally respected and admired by those of us who know him, and I am honored to count him among my friends. He will be a great dean.

Of course, part of the reason that I was not disappointed is that I am able to continue working as a law professor. I love writing, and I love teaching. This is a great job, and I look forward to helping Jim build a great law school.
