"For most of the past fifty years, attending Harvard Law School was a miserable experience"

That is the first sentence of Kevin Washburn's new essay, Elena Kagan and the Miracle at Harvard. What is the miracle? Hiring conservative law professors? Reforming the first-year curriculum? 

According to Washburn, the miracle is that "Harvard Law School is now a happy and rewarding community focused on student learning."

Community ... the secret sauce.
