In the past hour, I have received nine emails from SSRN informing me that nine different papers in my oeuvre have made nine different top ten lists. I stand behind no one in my admiration for SSRN, and, indeed, for my own lovely writing, but I'm beginning to suspect that what we have here is not a set of honors, but rather a nascent rewards program. As you can see, it doesn't exactly require a city of downloads to make one of these lists. More like a village.
