To almost have a perfect circle and end my time at the Glom where I started it, my spouse and I walked along Castro Street in San Francisco today, sashayed past a Halloween costume shop, and noticed the below window exhibit...a tombstone for Solyndra.
Now, given that one of the primary reasons (the primary reason?) that my spouse, the Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering, even bothered to show up at the commencement for my Ed.M. in 2009, was for him to see and hear Energy Secretary Dr. Steven Chu give the address, we both, for different reasons, simply had to laugh today at this item displayed in the shop window along with other tombstones and hobgoblins, particularly in one of the most left-leaning streets in one of the most liberal cities in the U.S., despite being near the epicenter of the Solyndra drama.
Our collective guess is that the White House will not be having the same tombstone on its lawn for Halloween this year.
