Response to Joan -- I Am Truly a Citation Geek

One of the weirdest changes from the Sixteenth Edition to the Seventeenth Edition was the addition of Rule 18 Electronic Media and Other Nonprint Resources, but the deletion of former Rule 17.3.3, which proscribed citing to a webpage. Under the current Rule 18, the only route seems to be to treat the posting as a secondary source found in an online publication (books, journals, magazines). Not very satisfactory.
